Cyclone Narelle - Kalbarri for Exmouth Cyclone Fund
The Kalbarri Community is raising funds to show support and solidarity with people for whom we have empathy, with memories of Cyclone Seroja back on the surface as we prepared for our impending visit from Cyclone Narelle. And to say that our community breathed a huge sigh of relief when we dodged that bullet is an understatement. However, the impact of the Cyclone on the community of Exmouth has been unexpectedly devastating.
Our community wants to reach out to Exmouth, which has been so hugely effected, and wants to do something and show our support directly however small or large the amount of money raised is.
We are in communication with the Shire of Exmouth, and other community groups to get advice as to what is needed in Exmouth. Our intention is to distribute to groups with specific needs, eg replacement of damaged play equipment, and we will not be going down the complex task of taking applications from individuals, or businesses. This is a short, sharp effort and will close by the end of April with distribution thereafter.
Money will be needed to replace items damaged and destroyed. Sending items is expensive and not practical from this distance, that's why cash is the better option at the moment.
Funds received will be accounted for in our income as: Donations received Cyclone Narelle. and in our expenses as: Donations distributed Cyclone Narelle.
KDA is a registered charity with the Australian Charities & Not-for Profits Commission (ACNC) and can provide tax deductible invoices on request. Please email your details (name, address, email address), and the invoice will be sent when funds are received in our bank.
Donor details will be kept in strict confidence, neither names or amounts will be disclosed to anyone, nor published.
Kalbarri Development Association: bsb 036-103 account 451191 Ref: Narelle & YOUR NAME.
Donations can also be received at our office, cash or credit card payment. [We have set up a donation button on this page for your convenience. [You can still pay by credit card, bank transfer or cash and instructions are provided. Note that Credit Card transactions attract a fee. When using this button you can only add up your donation in multiples of $10, so if you want to give $50 you will need to enter 5 as the number you wish to buy, which will add up to $50.]
We are promoting this fund raising effort on Facebook and in the April Town Talk
If you are in a position to support this fund raising - thank you. Any amount will help. It will add up quickly. You can also help by telling others that this is a way they can help the community of Exmouth.
